In modern foreign languages, we aim to make the study of French enjoyable and relevant for all students. Students develop their skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking over a broad range of topics.

We use a set of resources and teaching methods to empower students to use foreign languages spontaneously and fluently. The use of correct grammar in the target language is essential to communicate effectively in a variety of contexts and develop an appreciation for media.

Languages are a very sociable subject; therefore, students are encouraged to use their initiative and imagination when tackling a variety of tasks this helps to build transferable skills and ways of thinking. The department emphasises the importance of tolerance and open-mindedness to enable students to understand the richness of diversity.
