I hope you are well. We’d love to invite you to our Winter Show on Wednesday 13th December from 6pm at St Paul’s Church. Our show will feature music performances from our COREUs students as well as some festive favourites. We look forward to seeing you there. Seats will be allocated on a first come, first-served basis.
We have had some exciting news about the long-awaited pedestrianisation of the front of the school from Birmingham City Council. Works will commence over the Christmas holidays to erect bollards on Albion St , meaning that from 4th January, it is likely no access to cars. This map makes the plans very clear and parents should take the new layout into account when planning journeys to and from school.
We had a very successful Year 11 Parents’ Evening last week – it was brilliant to see so many parents here on site. We have Year 10 Parents’ Evening this Thursday and parents can book appointments via our SchoolCloud system here.
A massive thank you to parents who supported our Christmas Jumper Day appeal for Save The Children on Friday. We appreciate your donations to this important charity and it was lovely to see so many students in festive accessories!
We also have our termly Parent Symposium on Tuesday at 5pm via Teams and an email invite has been sent to all parents. The meeting can be accessed here.
I urge all parents to download and engage with Class Charts. Only 50% of our parents are regularly logging in and this is the best way to track your child’s performance lesson by lesson, day by day.
Our students have been involved in fixtures as part of the King Edwards School Sports Partnership this term and students have been voting on 4 possible designs for a new basketball kit. Please encourage your child to give feedback.
We are looking forward to our Rewards assemblies next week and our Attendance Golden Ticket Raffle next Friday too. I cannot stress the importance of students attending on time every day until the end of term, particularly in Year 11.
A reminder that term ends for all students at 12.25 on Friday 22nd December 2023 and our newsletter will also be published on that day, capturing many of the highlights of the Autumn term.
As always, you can call the Academy on 0121 729 7220, leaving a message if the line is busy and we will get back to you. Our line is very busy in the daytime so I encourage parents to use the voicemail facility by pressing option 2. If you would like urgent support, you can always reach Miss Chudasama (our Designated Safeguarding Lead) on option 4.
